FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

How do I introduce my fish into my pond?
Upon receipt of your package, DO NOT open the bag unless the fish appear to be stressed (gasping for air, signs of lethargy, etc.). With the bag still inflated, simply float the bag on your pond for 15-20 minutes to allow the water temperatures to merge. After that time, open the bags and dip your fish out of the bag and place them into their new home. DO NOT add your pond water to the shipping water as this will cause a spike in ammonia thus unnecessarily stressing your fish.
How many koi can I put in my pond?
A good rule of thumb, followed by many in the koi industry, is 10 gallons of water for every inch of fish in your pond.
Can I combine my order here with an order from your ebay store?
No, we do not cross site combine shipping. If you purchase fish from both sites, there will be a shipping charge for each order.
How much should I feed my fish?
During warm months, you can feed your fish twice daily feeding no more than they can clean up in two minutes time. During cooler months, you can feed your fish 2-4 times a week. When the water us below 50 degrees, do not feed your fish! If there is leftover food floating on your pond after a feeding, then you are feeding too much!
